When to apply for a place at Swanwick Primary School

If your child was born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020 they will be eligible to start school in September 2024. You should apply for their infant or primary school place by 15 January 2024. You will be able to make your application from 9am on 6 November 2023.

If your child was born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017 and is in their last year at infant school you should apply for their junior place by 15 January 2024. You will be able to make your application from 9am on 6 November 2023.

You'll get your offer on 16 April 2024 and if you're unhappy with the decision you can make a school admission appeal.

How to apply for a place at Swanwick Primary School

Derbyshire County Council admissions service is responsible for co-ordinating all applications from parents for school places in our catchment area.

How will I know if I have a place?

The Council will email your offer. If you apply online you'll also be able to log on to the admissions website to view your offer. If you don't have an email address, they will post your offer second class.

What happens next?

If you have secured a place in our setting, we will be contacting you after the Easter Break with a welcome pack and further information about the transition process. We usually plan a package of visits, ‘Stay and Play’ sessions, Home visits and/or phone calls. Where possible, staff will also visit your child in their current setting in order to meet them and chat to their current teaching staff.
